My month in review of my kids' milestones..

Over on the blog Use your stuff challenge blog, they posted about my favorite peep, Janet and her system of Month in review (MIR).  Here is the link that explain her whole process: http://useyourstuff.blogspot.fr/2013/12/a-month-in-review-free-online-class-by.html.

I decided to work on my kids milestones.. Each month I have taken the kids' monthly pictures and written journals of what they have accomplished.

Planning stage:

1.       PICK the SIZE - 12x12

2.       ALBUM BRAND - WRMK Faux Leather

3.       ALBUM COLOR - Kiwi-Amber, Buttercup-Caleb, baby blue-Tyler

4.       PAGE PROTECTORS - Regular 12x12 WRMK page protectors

5.       NUMBER of PAGE PROTECTORS - 12-double pages..

6.       PHOTO PRINTING - I am hoping to have my charm purchased and use it at home, bigger size like 5x7 and 8x10 will be shutterfly

7. Pick a sketch-I'm using Scrapbook generation Travel sketch book.

8. Make an Outline-
Title Page-12 pictures of kid-year-to introduce the album..
12 months (12-2 page spreads)
Milestone chart of weight and height with pictures of their shots.
embellishments-
titles-Little yellow bicycle-Sharon ann baby safari-boy and girl,Simple story baby cards for tyler..
Extras-border punch, photo corners, circle punch, any rub on i may have to use..etc..

Here is my trial run of sketch I'm using:

That LYB monthly journal tags that I will be using as my title then three scallop circles represent embellishments areas.. then my journal box will list kids' milestones for that month.. will be printed on SU whisper white paper then adhere to color mat behind it.. I will use either ribbon or twine.. and some stampings may pop up here.. I also can switch them around a bit for each month.. edited to add: that i may use 4x6 for photos instead of 5x7 just look better than i originally plan.. lol

the papers I'm using for this MIR:

Whisper White Stamping Up
Echo Park: Baby boy and little boy collection
SS baby cards
LBY journal cards
Echo Park: Baby girl and little girl collection
LBY journal cards

this is as far i got as the past two months, life just got in way.. so many unexpected things has happen but I'm looking forward to get back to this project and get it together.

Blue Fern Studio September Sketch

I only have Blue Fern Coffee chipboard.. it was my first purchase of them and i just love them.. so here is my take on sketch using the chipboard and few other supplies i had in my stash..

Don't you just love this.. I was going to stamp and emboss the chipboard but after putting on my layout.. i just love the natural look against all the pretty colors.. Now I'm planning to order more of their chipboard..

What's on your Workdesk? Wednesday 191

Hello, everyone

so sorry to be MIA last week, but most of my day was spent doing this:

I had a sick little boy--he had ear infection. Now he is back to his old self and I'm playing catch up on everything.

However, I had alot on my to do list that I want to do today but a major problem happen yesterday. My main water pipe broken due to the freezing temp we had the other night. Well, I didn't know until yesterday when the weather warm up and started to thaw. Ugh--major mess in my basement but thankful that there wasn't much damage to anything of our property just a mess to clean up and get take care of. Today, plumber is coming to dig up my driveway to replace the broken pipe and add the shut off value which was never put in the first place.  Major hit on my financial budget but I'm rolling with it. lol and taking it in stride.

I'm hoping later on I can finish my organization projects:

Alot of Ribbons

wrapping ribbons on small mat board I cut up to fix inside those green boxes.

here what i have so far...

little scraps will go here..

I didn't realize how many ribbons i really had until i put them all together..of course I have another box that I didn't show that store all my yarn fibers.  I also still working on sorting the brads, eyelets, etc.  it is such a pain but be so worth it when I finish.

I want to finish them up tonight and start scrappin! I got the bug to scrap some pictures that have been sitting for while.

What's on your workdesk? Wednesday 189

Happy WOYWW!
this morning, we had another snow storm.  My kids were so excited to go out and build their first snowman. Their daddy helped.

Last Friday, I finished the valentine decor for my friend. She didn't come down this past Saturday as she had the flu. boo-hoo hopefully she will be feeling better by this Saturday for us to get together.

then Sunday, I decided to clean up and did some rearrange in some area yep--very boring stuffs. lol

In between that, I am also sorting my brads, and eyelets mixture by colors and shapes as you can see here.

I'm hoping to finish couple things in the room this week so I can get back to scrapping again.
