WEEK 7 and 8: Organize Your Stuff (round 6): Ideas, projects, unfinished pages and kits

Week 7 focus on ideas that provide inspiration for our layouts, altered items, or whatever we are creating.  There are all of kinds of inspiration we get from print and digital. It seems to be more digital now with all pinterest, blogs, and facebook as we are becoming more tech savy.  Currently, I store my inspiration in both place-print and digital.  I don't have a computer in my scraproom so I have to print it out if I'm using it for specific layout.  Right now, most of my inspiration are store on my laptop and pinterest board.  My plan is to print out all the inspiration onto 5x7 card and put in binder. this way I can flip thur if I'm in need of inspiration while in my scraproom.

the print such as magazines, idea books, and various others are store on bottom two shelves.  I have three binders--Pagemap, Allison's sketches including others, and third are various sketches from different blogs.  Currently I'm using Allison's sketches for alot of my layouts.  I have set a date for in February to go thur magazines and books if I haven't touch them then they will be either purge or sell to make room for new things.

this week 8 is all about projects, unfinished pages, and kits that accumulated in my room.  I have ton of projects that I need to finish: birthday albums that is two years old, two Dec daily of past two years, and current Dec daily for this year, and school project.  I also have alot of unfinished pages that need journals and/or pictures is also sitting there.  I don't scribe to any club kits right now as I have ton of papers that I just can't justify to scribe. So my goal is to counterfeit some kits to use those papers up so i can scribe to one kit club next year. All of those things are store on this small bookshelf I created.

Each shelf hold two specific project or pages:
first shelf--Amber and Caleb's pages
second shelf--Tyler's pages and yearly pages
third shelf--school album and birthday albums
fourth shelf--Dec daily 2010 and 2011
fourth shelf-- extra Christmas supplies and premade pages

My goal this week is to finish the three spots on the shelf--amber, Caleb and Tyler's pages

I'm finish up the pages on Caleb--here is a peek of currently layout sitting on table--

In this box is all the unfinished pages that just need journals and date--
I don't write late at night--tend to make mistakes alot when I'm tire so I'm hoping to do this on Saturday during the day to finish this up.

12 x 12 2 page layout plus kit Swap

Hello all,

I'm sorry to be MIA for long time.  I had a major flu and still not quite 100% but on way of recovery.  I've three layouts to share that I did for a swap at Two Peas.
I use Allison Davis sketch book volume 8 for these layouts--some of them were changes slightly.

this one is Outdoor theme-I chose a very simple layout of just playing outside can be use for kids or yourself of spending time outside. I originally pick the plaid pattern paper for school theme but as I was looking thur the pictures of my kids playing outside. I thought the paper was perfect for this.  the orange is SU tangerine orange, i use small strip of polka dot orange for borders. Red and dark cardstock is from SU of title and subtitle area. I use black twine and brads to tie all the colors together.  Light yellow is where the picture would go in various sizes. I discover SEI 4 x 6 journal cards.  I use one of them and just trim it down.  I use AE stamps for my title and subtitle...

this is for family theme-I chose this chevron pattern paper for girly theme-such as sweet baby girl, grandma, or any girl relate theme.  I love the colors of those paper. I use SU brown cardstock for background, dolly was rak I won last year. Yellow embellishment (flowers) were from Walmart section--I want to say Jolee but not sure.  the journal box is from SEI 4 x 6 yellow cards.

The third layout is based on seasonal theme. I chose spring as i have spring on my mind. I'm so ready for warm weather with blooming flowers.  I fell in love with this butterfly pattern paper (find this at Micheals).  teal and green cardstock are bazzill bling.  the lite apricot background is SU.  I made the tag from my cricut.  journal box was from my journal stash. I use Chloe's closet flower embellishments and Martha Stewart butterfly punch.  i inked all edges and round corner with my corner punch.

Shimelle's January project for and Now for Something copletely Different

The Infamous Why?

Journal:
Recently this past week, my sweet girl, you have started the infamous why’s stage. I can never finish answering that first question when the second one is already being asked and continue on and on if I don’t stop you. Your curiosity of why these things happen is hard for me to answer sometime because honestly I don’t know myself.
Shimelle's step by step scrapbooking project
She provided instruction to follow along.  I had fun. the hard part for me was to handwrite my journaling on right side. Well, i totally mess up on it and had to cover it up. So my goal is to practice my writing more and use them in my layouts.  I really want to use some form of writing.

thank for looking. I'm currently working on my swap layout. I will post once i finish it.

Mother's Day 2011 Layout

As I was trying to do these layouts, It took me a while to figure out how i want to put the three pictures together.  Couple weeks ago, I won the Allison Davis one page scrapbook sketches.  I was going thur it and find the perfect sketch.  I create two for each of my kids' album.  I used studio AE technique Tuesday-Family is  (daughter mother and son ) and Get outside (tree)  as my title.  I really love how this turns out.  i just now realize i forget to put the date on tab. I will do them tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

Burlap & Buttercup Challenge

I saw this sketch over at Burlap & Buttercup sketch with a twist challenge. I had to try it.  the challenge is to use the sketch and add a sewing element to it.  Here is the link to sketch: http://burlapandbuttercups.blogspot.com/2011/09/sketch-challenge-with-twist-september.html

I rotated the sketch that the strips of pattern is on bottom.  I put journal boxes on left side and the tittle on right which balance it out.  I use heart shape die cut as a circle element.  the border around heart look like stitch.  I also add rub-on stitches to the left side of journal boxes and the top of picture.  I'm sorry for bad pictures as the weather has not been cooperating at all.  Until next time, have a good night..

Project I created past few days--

I created this layout for back to basic challenge which I miss the deadline.. I had fun creating this. this is from my pet stash.  I have piccture of my baby boy that I will get them develop next month to put where the white photo mat is. I use my stampin up baby boy stamp as part of my tittle.  I'm sorry for bad picture as it has been cloudy and rainy here for past few days.

I had to make a sympathy card for a dear friend of mine who lost her son this past thursday to tragic accident.  I really had a hard time creating something simple and elgant. I really like how this turn out.  I realize i need to buy more sympathy stamps as I don't have too many of them.

This one is for my sister's birthday coming up at end of month. I didn't plan on making this it just came together using my scraps. I really love how it turn out.

I made this layout about two week ago using the color golaore challenge using blue and orange.
this is picture of my great grandpa's farm before the house was torn down. I'm helping my mom doing the family tree album and she want me to do the pictures while she is doing the information gathering.  This is the first one I did. I will be doing more. I have an idea  for the title page and subtitle that i can't wait to get start on it.

Caleb's official photo

I'm entering Karen's challenge. If you want to enter her challenge, I think there is one more day left on this to enter. just click on Karen's name and it will take you directly to her blog. i used chocolate chip stampin up cardstock, polka dot pp from my stash, the paw print was in my scrap drawer from previous projects. The blue mat is for my photo once i get them develop at shutterfly.  the bone tag is my journal which will be print after I get ink for my printer.  I went to print it out last night and say that black was out. I thought that was weird because i just print the nursery information on left just before that. so i hold off until i knew i had fresh ink in as this is the only tag i have left. I really love how this turn out. My mojo is slowly returning.   I'm also working on two pages layout and hoping to post in next few days. Thanks for looking.

3 New layouts

Good Morning, Sorry I have been MIA--I have been under the weather plus having a stressful week with many things happening. Things has calm down over the weekend. I was able to finally finished all five of layouts I have chose to work on for past two weeks. lol It doesn't take me this long to work on them.

Here is the picture of candy I received from Marivic-(Berry71bleu).  She is having a March Challenge this month that will end on 31st--all about vintage. I'm hoping to work on this myself. I have a perfect picture and papers to work on it. Hope you guys will join- bc her blog candy is so cool.

Outfit of Day
When I was working on this layout, that flower eyelet that I received was so perfect for this layout. It was funny because I was going thur my stash trying to find that perfect embellishment.
this is my daughter's outfit of day--I have receive so many clothes that I try to put them on her each day.  She was growing like a weed that some of outfit never made it on her. lol I just love the spongebob cartridge so perfect for all the layouts I am using them on. all papers are from stampin up--

Look Who's Talking!

I love these pictures of her cooing. It was the first day she started cooing away to me. the lite blue base page is bazzill (i think). the flower paper came from AC Moore paper pad that was in my stash forever. I cut them 3 by 3 and round corners only at two opposite ends. the two shade of cardstock came from my stash.  the flower embellishment came from Marivic. I knew I had some blue blower sticker but i couldn't find them. Either I have given them away or already use them. lol don't you hate that when u think you have it and can't find it.

Beautiful
There are pictures taken at professional studios. Papers from Stampin up, except white cardstock from my stash. I use two different stamps emboss in black emboss power. then ink with red riding hood around edge.  The embellishment cluster was from stash that I either collected or given thur swaps, etc.

Yesterday I focus on cleaning and putting stuffs away.  I'm entering the Organizing your stuff challenge round 4 thur Two peas. I so need after working on these layouts I need to be able to find stuffs and not look for specific items. I'm excite about this.  I already went thur three boxes I had sitting on the floor that need to be look at and I did that yesterday.  I'm also putting like items together for now then will work on them as the challenge progress. I haven't work on project 12 layout yet and not sure if I will get to it today as it is due today. lol oh, well at least i have a sketch when i get a chance. My goal is to work on layouts for fun and not stress on deadlines.  Well, I'm off to do more cleaning in the scraproom. Thanks for reading!

What's on your Workdesk Wednesday 85

Currently on my desk, I am trying to finish all my uncompleted layouts that have been in my basket for few months that need either journal, or picture or both. I've decide to try to finish these before doing any more challenges as I wasn't having my mojo going with all the mess that is surround me. I so need to clean and reorganize so i can create better without running into mess. lol
On the desk, is my christmas 2008 of our poor chalie brown tree. lol I was planning to use a very old chipboard stash that has glitter--Kurio chipboard that came in small package box. I remember getting them from Wal-mart. Well I ran into a problem with these chipboards not all the letter are there--for exame there is on I only one E etc. ect you name it there is not just enough letter. so if anyone have this in their stash and not using it--I'll be happy to take it off your hand. lol ugh Now i know why i quit buying aphla chipboard and stickers because of this. lol Yeah i know i could make my own but the problem is I don't have any silver glitter as I don't use glitter that much on my layouts. lol I'm thinking of diging out my plain chipboard and emboss them in silver embossing power. that will be a first for me to do.
I was planning to post the finished layouts last night but my kids decide to stay up past their bedtime. lol I think they knew I want to do some scrappin'. Here they are:
this was my daughter's after her first bath. Her cousins was helping me getting her dress.
I use new arrival for the oneies. and very old rub on for title and decoration in middle.
This is my daughter's first easter egg hunt with her cousins.
Before I knew about Picsa--I created the collage on right myself by sizing and cutting. I will be using Picsa for collage in future. lol it was alot of work.
This one is my favorite layout and picture. you really can't see it but I use solid red texture cardstock for backgroun, green crimp texture behind the title and on bottom. I had the dog paw pp in my stash, I cut a strip for on the bottom and then lefteover of it--it has brown on back and use two small strips and tear it and curl it up. The ribbon from american craft. the sticker was in my dog stash. chipboard letters from Kurio. journal card was from my stash as well. lol Alot of them was from my stash that I have been hoarding or didn't use until i had the right layout. lol Hope you enjoy the layouts, sorry for glare I still can't find the right place to take picture of them. If you want to take a glimpse on what's on your workdesk, head on over to Julia's blog: http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ Thanks for looking!

Layouts

Today I focus on my uncompleted layouts that need journals or pictures or both. I went through them and completed four layouts while kids are napping. i will posted pictures after they are in bed. lol They just woke up from their naps. I'm just glad to finish them and put them in my next pile--putting them in album. Right now, I store all finish layouts in my tote bag with the album until i complete them. It works for me because I don't always scraps in order. I'm planning to go thur my daughter's baby album to see what layouts I still need to put in. I know there is a few off my head that i need to make yet. I'm trying to work from my stash and use what i have but it's hard when i know there are certain embellishment i should get but I won't because i really want to save and use what i have. In few months, I'm planning to go thur my embellishments pile and start purging what i know I won't use and either sell or donate them. Well, that's it for now. I'll be back later to post picture.

Sneak peek Reveal

I'm sorry I wasn't able to get this post yesterday as the lighting was not helping my picture taking. It has been cold and dreary here. My inspiration for three page layouts was based on Scrapbooking Ali (currently now Sketch Support). Few months ago I was inspired to do this layout of my daughter playing in the playground.

I finally was able to get a clear picture of my three page layouts--I just love these colors. It is not the best quality picture i was hoping for. the window where I was trying to take picture of this kept giving me glare on the picture. Anyhow,I move the bottom pp to bottom so i can add more pictures as I had alot. The second page i expand the title area and add three pictures in middle to add all the pictures i want to add and then I use Pisca to add the smaller pictures across the three pages. I just love how this turnout.
The orange background is Stampin' Up, the rest came from the kit I won in June 2010. I think it was either from Pink Cricut or Scrap Brlz(can't find the website now). The green journal card came from creative memories. The fresh air circle was created from graphic speaking. I add blue brad to bring the blue in along with the good times saying. I had fun creating this layouts.
I am hoping to work on my dec daily finish up journals and get them printed out. I only have 15 more to go then will done Next step is to get pictures develop. I went to Michael's today but they were sold out of cricuts (9.99). oh, well. I also was looking for specific colors for a challenge I want to do and I could not find the colors I needs. oh, well yep I left without buying anything. more money in my purse.
I will try to post more tomorrow. Thanks for reading!

A sneak peek

Good evening, It's been a long day! I was able to get some scrappin in during naptime. The frame was given to me by my sister. I find these quotes when I was surfin' the net. The quotes stated:

Dreams Wish it, Dream it, Do it Love The kitchen is the heart of the home!

Family Forever, for Always and no matter what!

The quilt pattern paper came from creative memories. I love the paper wish I could find more of it. I used my leftover scraps for quotes. then I was able to work on my Dec Daily journals on the computer. only have 15 more to go to format in text box then I will be ready to print it out. Just need to order my pictures. (kids woke up from nap grrr.) lol

Here is a sneak peek of what I am currently working on:

I will hopefully post tomorrow once I work out a few details on it. Thanks for reading!
