Christmas Cards

This year I decide to keep it simple during the holidays.  I'm working on my Dec Daily album each day just photographing and journal for some. I do have few pages completed here and there but will work on more.

Here is christmas cards I made:

Here i used my christmas paper stash i have for long time. I used a combination of stamp to create my sentiment.  I used holly leaves adn christmas oranment punch to create a small embellishment. I kept it simple since postage is on the rise.  I only made ten this year to mail out as not alot is sending out christmas cards like they use too. I really love how this turns out and plan to use this again next year maybe. lol

I'm still working on unpacking and setting up the room--will post pictures soon as I thought i did but i guess i didn't lol.  I will try to post more once things calm down. I do have few new layouts that I'm did for Allison's class.  I'm having alot of fun in taking her class.  I know how the heck do i create with the chaos in my room but i do it and keep it simple.  I'm using alot of my stashes up doing these layouts so I'm excited about that.

Here is few of layouts I did so far:

Moving progress and Halloween treat envelopes

Hi, all  Sorry to be MIA since the last post, things has been really hectic here.  I'm in middle of packing--this picture was taken last week of its progress. Today it is almost all packing up. alot of work, hard part will be unpacking at new place. lol My sis asked me to make some treat bags for her son's school. Well, with the move, I didn't have my cartridges out. I was reading thur my blog reader list and came across Becky (Fourth House on the right). She used envelope as treat bag and just decorate the front. I thought I can do that with old halloween stash i had (they came from walmart when they sold in paper pack). Spiders came last year project that I use up here, I used scallop punch for pumpkin, and I use my new cloud punch with witch punch.  Trick n Treak stamp came from October AE club.  I put gemstone beside it. it really turn out cute and quick to make.

I'll be back to post more ongoing progress with move and some projects I haven't posted yet.

cards i made this past few weeks...

These are thank you cards I donated for school here that has major flooding damage.  I thought they could use it to send cards for whoever help them out.  I use my red scraps for border strip.  I stamp the distress background stamp using chocale chip (SU) ink then SU tag punch and double hole for twine. and here finished cards. I really love how it turns out.

A birthday card for year old boy...again I use my distress background stamp (i think it from Autumn leaves). then elephant I had in my stash which i'm sure it came from cricut or sizzix.  the banner flag came from cricut too. I can't remember which one.

a thank you card--use my green scrap for this card.  martha steward butterfly punch add gem stone to middle. love how it turns out. so simple and pretty.

Thank you cards to send out to guests that came to birthday party for my little boy--I had this jungle ribbon in my stash for long time.. so glad to use them .  the green card was from a invitation box that was clearance out from somewhere. lol I use leaves stamp for around the edge to make it look like jungle leaves as I didnt' have any stamp like that.  I used CTMH alpha stamps for the sentiments.  Love how it turns out it was so cute..

Another thank you card--came from my stash--this was a little bag from SU stamp camp I made at one time. I just trim it away and use it as a card. love how it turns out. so cute.

I am trying to make cards more to mail out because I have gotten so many complaints on them.  As you can see, I've been using the kraft paper as my base which really help in creating these cards so much that anything go at this time.  Thanks for looking.  I'm hoping to work on few layouts tonite and get them postings. I'm sorry for poor quality as it has been rainy here. I'm looking into purchasing better lighting when I move and better way to photograph.  I have been researching and writing down tips.  As always, Thank you for all who do leave comments, I love reading them. I'm having blogger issues in leaving comments on some of my fav blogs and new ones as well. so always know i do read your blog.

Mother's Day 2011 Layout

As I was trying to do these layouts, It took me a while to figure out how i want to put the three pictures together.  Couple weeks ago, I won the Allison Davis one page scrapbook sketches.  I was going thur it and find the perfect sketch.  I create two for each of my kids' album.  I used studio AE technique Tuesday-Family is  (daughter mother and son ) and Get outside (tree)  as my title.  I really love how this turns out.  i just now realize i forget to put the date on tab. I will do them tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

Burlap & Buttercup Challenge

I saw this sketch over at Burlap & Buttercup sketch with a twist challenge. I had to try it.  the challenge is to use the sketch and add a sewing element to it.  Here is the link to sketch: http://burlapandbuttercups.blogspot.com/2011/09/sketch-challenge-with-twist-september.html

I rotated the sketch that the strips of pattern is on bottom.  I put journal boxes on left side and the tittle on right which balance it out.  I use heart shape die cut as a circle element.  the border around heart look like stitch.  I also add rub-on stitches to the left side of journal boxes and the top of picture.  I'm sorry for bad pictures as the weather has not been cooperating at all.  Until next time, have a good night..

Cards I made for my son's birthday

this is the birthday invitations I made for my son's first birthday. His nickname is my little monkey.  I find the card style from one of google readers blog. I forget who to give credit.  I use alot of this from my stash. the monkey is from everyday paper doll cartridge.

I made this tag to put on his birthday gift.  I use the monkey again (it was leftover from previous project).  then I cut the banana out from Animal Kingdom.
the tag was size and I use my corner punch i had (sorry don't know the name)  then i use stampin up tab punch from leftover scrap.  the sentiment was stamp onto.  I think it was from hero arts but I'm not sure. I also ink the edge to darken it little.  I use CTMH little alpha for front.

Project I created past few days--

I created this layout for back to basic challenge which I miss the deadline.. I had fun creating this. this is from my pet stash.  I have piccture of my baby boy that I will get them develop next month to put where the white photo mat is. I use my stampin up baby boy stamp as part of my tittle.  I'm sorry for bad picture as it has been cloudy and rainy here for past few days.

I had to make a sympathy card for a dear friend of mine who lost her son this past thursday to tragic accident.  I really had a hard time creating something simple and elgant. I really like how this turn out.  I realize i need to buy more sympathy stamps as I don't have too many of them.

This one is for my sister's birthday coming up at end of month. I didn't plan on making this it just came together using my scraps. I really love how it turn out.

I made this layout about two week ago using the color golaore challenge using blue and orange.
this is picture of my great grandpa's farm before the house was torn down. I'm helping my mom doing the family tree album and she want me to do the pictures while she is doing the information gathering.  This is the first one I did. I will be doing more. I have an idea  for the title page and subtitle that i can't wait to get start on it.

Organize your Stuff: update

Hi, all

I'll be covering a few weeks to update what I haven't posted for while.

Week 9: Embellishments

I recently find these storage boxes for my embellishments. I have decide to group them by color as I tend to scrap by colors. since I did this, I just love it.

Week 10 and 11 : Alphas,non-alphas, and rub-on

I combined both ao and 11 as I sorted them by colors, or themes depending on what they are.  they are in my file drawers.  I have been using them more up now then I did before. I also started a small purge piles as I have set rules when to use them up as i have some of them for years.  Some of them may have went into my embellishment boxes such as for example-in the yellow box, I put the flower stickers in this so i can use them more.  I have few small rub-on collections taht are store in my karen foster small box as I don't have too many of them.

Week 12: ribbons, threads, and fibers
As you can see, I had sorted most of my ribbons into color. Then I'm planning to wrap them around card to store them easily I haven't work on for while which I need to start it up again.
This is where I store all my fun furs.  I don't mind digging thur and finding what i need as I don't often refer to it. Threads--I only have about two as I just recently get a sewing maching at Kmart for 28 bucks. whoo whoo.  I'm planning to get those thread rack that you can put on the wall if I start to accumlate more. I need to go to Joann's to get the colors I would like to have.

Week 13: Stamps
I have tons of stamps.  I have a full bin here at this house and i have more at my mom's house. Right now, the bin i have here I'm sorting them by themes using the med size green bins for storage for right now until i figure out how I want to store them.  there is so many possible storages that i can't decide how i want to do them.

Week 14: Crop supplies

I have a crop bag that i used to take to crop. I also have duplicates tools such as tweezer, scissors, ruler, pencils, post it notes, and a box of embellishment mixtures. However, since having kids I hardly ever go to crop so i clean the bag out and set up a caddy for if i have guest over for scrapping and those tools can be use for them.  It works out great.  If i do go to a crop, I can just grab them again, and take my kits that i make ahead of time.

Week 15: inks, ink pads, and embossing
Right now I have my ink pads store in the drawer to keep little hands out. I'm looking into purchase a specfic storage unit that would hold--all three ink pad, reink and markers.  I also want to purchase additional unit that would would other inks such as distress inks, and other type of inks.

Currently, I have my embossing power, heating tool and veramark ink in this drawer which I abosulaty love.

week 16: paints, glitters, and stickles

My paints are currently store away.  I only have one container of glitter and four stickles.

I will cover week 17 to 20 in couple days..

Off to work on couple layouts, thanks for reading.

First Birthday

Today my sweet boy is turning one! where did the time go?

Caleb's official photo

I'm entering Karen's challenge. If you want to enter her challenge, I think there is one more day left on this to enter. just click on Karen's name and it will take you directly to her blog. i used chocolate chip stampin up cardstock, polka dot pp from my stash, the paw print was in my scrap drawer from previous projects. The blue mat is for my photo once i get them develop at shutterfly.  the bone tag is my journal which will be print after I get ink for my printer.  I went to print it out last night and say that black was out. I thought that was weird because i just print the nursery information on left just before that. so i hold off until i knew i had fresh ink in as this is the only tag i have left. I really love how this turn out. My mojo is slowly returning.   I'm also working on two pages layout and hoping to post in next few days. Thanks for looking.

We don't know the gender yet as you can see the baby was being shy. lol Hopefully our next visit we will find out for sure.  I've been working on some projects. I'm trying to work on my to do list that I have set up but it is getting hard to get into the scrap room as my daughter had decided to skip her napping time.  I'm still working on organize this challenge, just haven't been able to update which i hope to this weekend and start blogging again.  Off to work on my to do list as well as catching up on my blog readers.  Have a great day!
